About Course

Professor Binka Dobreva, soloist of Mystery of Bulgarian Voices Choir, presents an overview of Thracian ethnographic sub-regions in Bulgaria. Differences of ornamentation, rhythm and style are explained and demonstrated with song examples. Binka Dobreva is accompanied on accordion by her husband Alexander Raichev. The song Mome, Malka Mome is taught in detail with concentration on melodic ornamentation and vocal sound production. Stylistically appropriate vocal warm up, and practice time for text and song sections are included in the class. Q&A concludes the class.
